Questions & Answers
FAQ
1. From what age up to what age can I participate in the camp?
Children from around 8 years old can participate if they can swim confidently, are not afraid to be alone in the lake, and can swim back with the equipment. It is also important that the children want to participate themselves.
Adults also need to know how to swim and have a good basic fitness level – our courses have successfully been attended by participants over 70 years old.
2. What equipment is provided?
The price includes life vests, wetsuits, skis, kneeboards, and beginner wakeboards. Obstacle boards can be optionally rented for an additional €19 per day.
3. Is food provided on site?
The camp is self-catering. You can bring your own packed lunch or buy food and drinks at the adjacent restaurant or snack bar. Since the sessions are scheduled close together, it doesn’t make sense to eat a large meal during the camp hours.
4. Can I participate as a family, and are there any discounts?
Yes! Families pay the full price for the first participant. The second participant receives a 5% discount, and the third and each additional participant receive a 10% discount.
5. How do I get to the water ski facility, and are there accommodation options on site?
The best way to get there is via Google Maps. The entrance to the facility is about 200 m before the water ski park, directly opposite the rowing club, clearly marked with a WAKE PARK sign. Address for navigation: De Weerd 52, Roermond, Netherlands.
There are campsites and hotels nearby, such as Camper Area Roermond, Van Ass Camping, Camping Velmanns, or holiday homes at the Resort Marina Oolderhuuske.
6. How safe is wakeboarding and waterskiing?
Both sports are safe and have a low risk of injury, especially within the guided courses. Our trainers are certified lifeguards, hold first-aid certificates, and have experience in treating sports-related injuries.
7. How does cancellation work?
-
Up to 3 months before the event: 20% of the total price is due.
-
Up to 1 month before the event: 50% of the total price is due.
-
In the last 30 days before the event: 80% of the total price is due.
-
Up to 10 days before the event: 100% of the total price is due.
8. What happens in case of rain or bad weather?
Light rain is not a problem – you’ll get wet anyway. In case of thunderstorms or strong winds, we will reschedule the session or credit it for a later date.
9. How many participants are allowed per group?
A maximum of 20 participants are allowed per group and session. Usually, there are 10–15 participants, so that everyone can receive individual attention.
10. Are there photos, videos, or certificates?
Children receive a participation certificate. On the last day of the camp, we take photos and videos of all participants, which you will receive for free.
11. Is the camp suitable for all experience levels?
This camp is designed for beginners and intermediate riders. It’s not a problem if you have never waterskied or wakeboarded before. We are also happy to help you learn obstacle riding or basic tricks (360, tantrum, etc.).
For advanced riders who want to learn air tricks or more complex tricks (313, tantrum to blind, etc.), this camp is not suitable.
